Therese Giedraitis Hensler, MSW, LCSW

I am a psychotherapist specializing in providing therapeutic services to adolescents/parents, adults and families. I have an integrative approach to counseling using methods that appreciate the importance of healing the body and brain as a whole.  My life passion is to support people on their brave life journeys. I believe every person has the capacity to make bold choices that realize compassion, personal fulfillment, and positive potential in life.

My goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment for you to develop your authentic self and reveal your own resilience to live more wholeheartedly.

Therese is a mother of 4 children. She loves nature, trying to imperfectly figure out what it means to live a healthy lifestyle that honors the earth, hanging out with friends and family, decorating, and spontaneous adventures.

Education and Memberships

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am certified by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health to provide psychotherapy in private practice. I have dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Social Philosophy from Marquette University. I received my Masters of Social Work from Arizona State University with a specialization in child welfare and emphasis in policy, administration, and community.

I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. The Daring Way™  is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings and is suitable for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.

I am trained as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner to help resolve trauma through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute.

I am an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Children’s Services Network of Arizona, and the Adverse Childhood Experience Consortium.
