Therapeutic Approaches:

Therese has an integrated, family systems approach in order to provide an individualized therapeutic experience. She blends therapeutic approaches and techniques to formulate a style which best meets your particular need. Because we are all unique in our own ways, we all thrive in a unique balance of healing styles. Therese will work closely with you to determine what style works best for you, you and your partner, or your child/teen to create a treatment plan that fits you. Therese uses a collaborative approach and will communicate with teachers, physicians, and team members as requested. During meetings, Therese may use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques including Mindfulness, Strengths-based Perspective, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive – Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapies, Daring Way TM or other methods to assist you in discovering peace and recovery.

Therese believes humans have the amazing potential to change not only behavior, also mental capacity. Neuroscience research has discovered brains make physical changes throughout the entire lifetime. This confirms our brain is able to change and “rewire” itself. Past life experiences have shaped how the brain functions, while so can present and future experiences as well. Psychotherapeutic techniques and skills are helpful in molding the brain for positive success.

Therese is a Certified Daring Way (TM) Facilitator.  The Daring Way (TM) is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings and is suitable for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.   Further information is available at
